Harmony is shown here as robotic. Each human unit is content but with no individual sense of self. Life is black and white. The similarity is shown not only by the lack of colour but in the complete repetition of form of dreary monotony. This is a world lacking in choice without variety, excitement or creativity. Everyone is looking in the same direction cut off from outside stimulus. I decided to be myself, to risk leaving harmony and to break away from monotony to a world of colour and expressiveness which is as varied as the human spirit can be.
